Last year around this time I lamented the lack of decent frozen yogurt in this town, and how the revived frozen yogurt trend was passing us by. In the coming months, I might be able to cross that off my most-wanted list.
It appears that Canadian froyo giant Yogen Fruz has launched an all-out yogurt blitz around the world and especially in the state of Illinois. It even has plans to open a store right here in Champaign as early as this fall.
Up north the stores have been populating malls, but this looks to me to be destined for a Campustown location, perhaps in one of the many new buildings along Green Street.

Love frozen yogurt, but would rather stay away from Campustown if I can. Though, I could be tempted…

Will be interesting to catch their pricelist. I can’t believe the cost of a smoothie in this berg; “the king” charges more than $7 for a medium sized one. Fugheddit!

Gnightgirl — No kidding. They are super expensive … not to scare you but have you ever looked at the nutrition information on those things???
Misc — Well, that’s just a guess. Who knows if it will even come to fruition.

I used to make my own smoothies. All ice and fruit. A few bananas, some crushed pineapple, some strawberries, etc. I was under the very false impression that they were healthy. NOT. Fastest weight gain I’ve ever experienced.

I tried Yogen Fruz and I must say it taste so so so good, it gets a 9 out 10 as they didn’t have the mochi topping.

Yikes girl….have I learned you nothing with the Ketogenic diet? Fruit – pure sugar but some are better then others. Larkin is lovin her some blueberries these days but only in 8 gram amounts.
I wished I like Yogurt – do they have a Pinot flavor?

I’ve been there twice for smoothies, in desperation when no other West Springfield Ave food will pass lunch muster (I usually pack a lunch). They’re about 900 calories, aren’t they? Should have gone for the 99-cent bean burrito across the street.

We made our own “frozen yogurt” to take to school today. Just mix organic vanilla yogurt with frozen organic raspberries (thaw in micro and smoosh first), and put them into popsicle trays or cups.
Drat, that was my “food” post for today. Oh well, you might read that recipe again!

there used to be a place in the old farm shop center that had pumpkin frozen yogurt to die for, along with soft serve, other frozen yogurts, and burgers. i can’t remember the place but I loved it as a kid
