an update on old business

Well, looky here. In my inbox today was an announcement from Paris’ Boutique about the brand new Mommy Mixer event! You guys know the drill. And guess what, there’s even a discount. Instead of $100, this one time only, the registration fee will be just $50. Yes, that’s 50% off! And there will be a 10% discount on all Paris merchandise purchased that evening.

It doesn’t take a genius to read between the lines and deduce that the first and evidently now non-existent Mommy Mixer was a big flop. The half-off Mommy Mixer, in case you’re curious, will be on May 21. I wonder if the babysitters will be encouraged to provide their services at half-off too. Giggles.

Wonder where they are planning on getting the sitters at since the U of I will be long done by then?

Congratulations on exposing the Mommy Mixer for what it is and isn’t — it is a very expensive cup of coffee or diet drink, and certainly isn’t much of an improvement over finding a sitter through word of mouth, CL, or newspaper ads.

Wonder what the mommies here really think it would be worth? $10? $25? $36?

Now if they could combine a Mommy Mixer with a baby clothing exchange … that’d be something!

Thank God. I’m glad to hear Chambana isn’t filled with morons.

Hee, hee! They should have listened (or maybe they did and that’s why the price is reduced). This isn’t a big city market and we won’t pay big city prices.

I still don’t know a single person who is actually going.
