and World Market is closing (and not just here but in Springfield too).
and a C-U resident shocked the world. My mom now thinks there are gun shops on every corner here.
and Judy Fraser will have her annual Hoodie Hoo celebration at noon Wednesday at a TBA Urbana location.

I’ve lived here for, well, forever, and I can’t tell you where there is a gun shop…I’m pretty sure we’re all safe. No need for any of us to be reactionary.
What?! World Market is closing? I don’t go there often, but I like to buy ornaments there.
My mom took my daughter to Hoodie Hoo one time. Very strange. And always very cold!

I’ll miss World Market. I’m not much of a shopper, but it’s a great place to browse.

Close out sale? Is there going to be a close out sale?

As I read the articles about the gunman I was trying to recall gun shops here in town. My FIL has a collection but they are antiques. I honestly can’t think of a single place I could buy a gun other then Wal-Mart.
I do know the tattoo place though. Saw it on my way into the fabric store 2 weeks ago. The sign out front with the name caught my eye. I hear he is going to collect donations via the tattoo he designed for the gunman.

I heard that everything at World Market is 20% off with the exception of their wine. I saw an ad in last week’s paper about the sale and wondered then if they were going to close. I, too, enjoyed shopping there but didn’t go that often.

I saw the poor guys standing on Prospect with the big signs. I had to laugh that the signs said BIG SALE UP TO 30% off! 30%?!
Good coffee there.

Anybody old enough to remember when Curly of Curly’s Pawn Shop - which boasted one of the finest selections of pre-owned firearms in the downstate area - was shot and killed?
I remember it being kind of a weird week.

Heck, even I hadn’t heard of that particular gun shop and I thought I knew them all (pawn shop on University, Dave’s out on 150, hardware store on Green St.).
Neither Wal-Mart nor Dick’s sells handguns.

I’m sorry to see World Market go. Does anyone have a suggestion for another C-U source of interesting, inexpensive wine? ($6, $7, $8 a bottle).

Is there a Friar Tuck in CU? Maybe on the southside. If you get on their wine list they will mail wine coupons/specials once a month.
