- More billboard drama in C-U: what’s up with the blurry ones? I know my eyes aren’t that bad.
- No offense to Janet Bubin, but we want a real Trader Joe’s, not a knock-off. But a teahouse in the old JBJ space sounds fantastic.
- Now that Dumbledore has been outed, the fifth Harry Potter movie — that I am going to see (finally) at the Virginia Theater on Thursday night — will take on a whole new meaning.
- Don’t forget to make your contributions to Food for Families 2007.
- Don’t want to spend $65 for tickets to the Cirque show? Head out to Allerton Park this Sunday for the second annual Spooktacular, a great family-friendly non-scary Halloween event, for a chance to win some. Cirque du Soleil’s Saltimbanco Tour Bus will be at Spooktacular from 3:30 to 5 PM with a stilt walker, juggler, and mime in full costume ready to entertain and take pictures with Allerton’s Spooktacular attendees. (I’m going for the roasted marshmallows.)
- Too bad we don’t K-mart around here anymore (and no, I’m not driving to Danville). But if you want to, here’s a reason: a coupon for a free bag of candy.

The quote I read about Dumbledore from Rowling didn’t specifically say he is gay. It said he was in love with someone he battled against evil. That could be any of the Death Eaters (male or female).
I’m trying not to read too much of the “news” stories about his sexuality. I’ll wait for her encyclopedia to come out and see what she really has to say.
And if he’s gay, that’s fine with me. Who cares, really (which is why I can’t figure out why it’s all over the TV and internet). But I can see some of the Christian groups who think the Potter books are devil worship using this as one more reason to ban the books. They’ll find some way to say that Dumbledore liked Harry, too.

Rowling was pretty clear about it actually. TIME quoted her as saying “my truthful answer to you… I always thought of Dumbledore as gay,” and then when on to say that his great love was specifically Grindelwald. Pretty unambiguous.

Ah, I see. Doesn’t change my opinion of him or my opinion of the books (love ‘em).
Is she still trying to peddle more books? She’s already richer than the Queen!

I don’t care that Dumbledore is gay, it just put a different spin on things — more so in the movies than the books, I think. Like the part in the movie last night where he disappears in a ball of fire and some guy says he has a lot of style. That got a big laugh in the audience, probably for more reasons than one.

The blurry billboard are driving me crazy. Whoever’s idea they were is currently my least favorite person of all time.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to see the blurry signs…are they intentional…they look like it.

I love the blurry billboards. They look just like everything does when I take off my glasses. So, you people with perfect vision, ever wonder what it would be like? Well….

They are no longer blurry! Funny, I can’t remember the company name but their slogan is…Incredibly Focused.
I guess their ad team won…we are talking about it.

My husband asked me about those billboards the other day. He was questioning whether or not he might need to get his eyes checked (he was kidding). I said yes (I wasn’t when a man consents to going to the doctor I take advantage every time!)
