take them to O’Charleys.
See, at O’Charleys, servers are being instructed not to give out lemons to customers willy-nilly. Evidently, there was a big freeze out in California (which produces the great majority of this country’s lemon supply) and prices have skyrocketed.
So it wasn’t a mistake when our O’Charleys server conveniently left off a lemon when I specifically requested it with my water, as I am wont to do. Just beyond our table — which was right next to the drink station — was a directive from the management ordering servers to curtail lemon usage at all costs, and that failure to comply would be dealt with severely.
This calls for some pun or something, but I’m not feeling clever enough to think of one. Lemons or no lemons, O’Charleys wins brownie points for its free kids menu.

Dude… that is such a bummer. And more of our fruits and veggies are going to suffer because of the bee population is dying. This is going to be a long summer.

They have a free kids menu? Every day? Anything at that restaurant without meat or do they have any good fish?
So, did you ultimately get your slice of lemon?

You know, many many years ago I worked for a coffeeshop and the owner was so anal and stingy that he actually thought he needed to charge for a slice of lemon in a water ($.10). This, of course after he had us slice them so paper thin that you could get about 20 slices out of one lemon to start with. I refused (in secret) and I can’t say that the bottom line was ever noticably affected by my lack of charging people for it.
Don’t let the man keep you down. Fight the power. *raises fist*

The free kids menu is on the handout they give you with a couple of crayons. It has standard stuff like a burger, mac n’ cheese, chicken tenders, etc. They let you choose a side (broccoli, fries, apple sauce?, something like that). They charge for the drinks, but Peanut just had water.
I don’t know if I would say they have good fish, but I have enjoyed their salmon caesar salad once or twice.
No, I never did get that slice of lemon. I was too busy feeding Peanut her free mac n’ cheese.
