true mad and deep random thoughts
- There’s still snow to shovel at the lbotp household. If KC (the killer cockapoo) had her way, we’d dig out the whole backyard so she could have some room to poop. Yes, I said room to poop. It seems that the little tunnels that we dug just aren’t enough area for her dainty doo-doo.
- Krannert is hosting a free Swing Dance with live music tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. They’ve promoted the heck out of it, even though swing dance is, well, so 1995. It does look like fun.
- Champaign Unit 4 schoolkids may have enjoyed their three snow days, but will they have to make them up at the end of the year and delay summer vacation? Inquiring minds want to know.
- Brace yourselves for this weekend’s invasion of the grapplers. And don’t try to go to the McDonald’s or Friday’s on the corner of Kirby and Neil for the next few days.

Snow days… if it’s anything like the last few days of regular school where they only go for an hour or two and sign yearbooks and that sort of thing, it’s certainly not something for the kids to worry about. The last half week of school is such a waste and obvious “we have to show we went a certain number of days” issue that most of the parents I know just let their kids stay home instead of going in for a super short day with no productivity.

During the winter of my senior year at Centennial, we’d had enough snow days racked up that they cancelled Spring Break. Cancelled Spring Break.

I think that Champaign builds a few snow days into their schedule and lets out early if they aren’t used. Not positive though.
Erin T.- When did you graduate from Centennial? I did in 1989 and my husband in 1985.
