Been here for years, but sometimes my mom’s friends still ask me “How’s school?” Well, I’ve never even attended a class at the University of Illinois, let alone got a degree from it. I’m a North Shore girl on the prairie. I even own a home and pay taxes here, so I guess that makes me a townie. So I love it when the folks up north ask me, “Do you like living in Champaign?” And my usual answer, after fighting through five hours of traffic just to get up there, is a grumble about what our version of rush hour is and how I never have to wait in line at Walgreen’s. So what will this blog be about? The good (see above) and the bad (South Farms smell) of living here, food, shopping, media criticism, an occassional rant, a shoutout to my buds, my puppy, what is fun and good and bad to read online, websites to dig and websites to abhor, justice, the American way, peace, and whatever the heck else I want it to be about. So be it. But this blog won’t be a one-woman show. Guest bloggers are welcome, just drop me a line. And in the infinite wisdom of my friend Anna, have a beautiful day.
